, as well as private concessions.

. Mount Kilimanjaro
The "Roof of Africa" can be experienced as a challenging multi-day summit or a scenic one-day hike.
Summit Treks: Popular routes include the scenic
Machame Route
Whiskey Route and the
Marangu Route
Coca-Cola Route, which offers hut accommodations.
Day Hikes: For those with limited time, a Kilimanjaro Day Hike starts from Arusha and reaches the first camp (
Mandara Hut
at 2,700m), allowing you to experience the rainforest and volcanic landscapes in just 6–8 hours.
A coffee tour in
Arusha
is a hands-on, cultural journey that takes you from the "bean on the bush" to a freshly brewed cup. Nestled on the fertile volcanic slopes of Mount Meru, these tours offer more than just a farm walk; they are an immersive experience into the traditions of the local Meru tribe.
What to Expect on a Typical Tour
The Plantation Walk: You will stroll through lush fields, often intercropped with bananas for shade, and learn how Arabica coffee thrives at altitudes above 1,400 meters. If you visit during the harvest season (typically May–October), you may even get to pick ripe red coffee cherries yourself.
TraditionalProcessing: This is the most interactive part. You will help pulp, dry, and pound the beans using a traditional giant mortar and pestle to remove the husks.
Singing and Dancing: In authentic Tanzanian style, the pounding and roasting are almost always accompanied by rhythmic local songs and dancing, creating a high-energy, festive atmosphere.
Roasting over Open Fire: You'll watch (and help) as the pale green beans are roasted in a clay pot over an open flame until they turn a fragrant deep brown.
The Tasting: Finally, you brew and enjoy the very coffee you helped process, often paired with a traditional farm-to-table lunch of Meru cuisine like banana stew.
Arusha
is home to several spectacular waterfalls, each offering a unique blend of adventure, culture, and nature. Most are nestled on the slopes of Mount Meru, providing a refreshing escape from the city heat.
NAPURU WATERFALLS:Located in the Olgilai area on the slopes of Mount Meru, this is one of the highest in the region at approximately 78 meters. It features a 1.5 to 2-hour moderate hike through lush forests and river crossings.
